Arting-in-Place at Helumoa - He Wahi Pana, A Storied Place

In September of 2009, a group of native  Hawaiian artists spent seven days in residence, Arting-in-Place at the Sheraton.  For the first three days, the artists worked with twenty-two talented young people. The group worked collaboratively to paint the Helumoa mural in six large panels.  They were painted over a three day period, with the artists adding the finishing touches.  After completing the Helumoa mural, the artists went on to work on their own commissioned paintings for the Sheraton Waikiki.
 
Take a walking tour and enjoy the results of this Arting-in-Place experience, celebrating this storied place of Helumoa.
