HISTORY
The Sheraton Waikiki, centrally located on the world-famous Waikiki beach, opened in June 1971. The hotel underwent a $20 million major renovation in 1995. In March 2007, the hotel completed a $55 million room renovation, which began in October 2004.
PROPERTY AND LOCATION
Located on the world-famous Waikiki Beach, the hotel is known for its breathtaking ocean-front views available from 80% of our rooms. Each of our 1,695 rooms and 128 suites come with an unparalleled view of white-crested waves, the Ko’olau Mountains with their majestic silhouettes, and Honolulu’s whirling constellation of lights. The hotel, an oasis away from the dynamism of Waikiki, offers guests the opportunity to relax or enjoy activities such as surfing, outrigger canoe surfing, snorkeling expeditions, scuba diving and sailing catamaran charters, all which can be arranged through the hotel Concierge. In the heart of Waikiki, the Sheraton Waikiki is in walking distance from Kapiolani Park, the Honolulu Zoo, Waikiki Aquarium, and International Marketplace. The hotel is also bordered by world-class shopping, dining and entertainment. The hotel is nine miles from Honolulu International Airport.
GUEST SERVICES AND FACILITIES
When staying at The Sheraton Waikiki, your visit is enhanced by the facilities, services and amenities available through the hotel. These include: a freshwater swimming pool, beach activities desk, historical walking tours though Waikiki, daily newspaper upon request, laundry facilities and dry cleaning services, boutique shops, concierge and dining reservations desk, multilingual staff, valet and self-parking, voice mail message center, escorted check-in, in room video check-out and ADA accessible rooms. Guests are also entitled to “stay at one, dine at all” privileges with sister hotels in Waikiki. Rooms have complimentary safes and doors fitted with electronic locks. All guest rooms are equipped with high-speed internet access and a wireless Local Area Network (LAN) is available in various hotspots around the hotel lobby extending to the beach. Guests also have access to the Sheraton Waikiki Hookipa Activity Center which includes the Xerox Business Center, the Fitness Center at a daily fee of $8.00 per day or $16.00 per week (subject to change) and preferred rates at championship golf courses. Babysitting and limousine service is also available. A “Doctors on Call” 24-hour Medical Clinic is located across the street at the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani. Guests can also take advantage of the luxurious Abhasa Waikiki Spa and Salon next door at the Royal Hawaiian hotel.
Hotel guests traveling with children ages five to 12 are invited to discover fun in Hawaii through dance, arts and crafts, games, food, storytelling, excursions and cultural activities at the Westin Kids Club (WKC) in the Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort. Scheduled learning experiences such as the Discovery Tours, Star-gazing, Taste Adventure, Local Vocal or Westin Kids Workout, will captivate your children’s imagination. The WKC is offered seven days a week and features six on-site programs along with off-site excursions organized on a daily activity calendar so that families can schedule their time accordingly. The daily program is held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and includes lunch, and the night program is held from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. (July 1 – August 31 only). WKC rates are $70 for Kid’s Club Full Day, $50 for Kid’s Club Half Day and $45 for Kid’s Club Evening.
DINING AND ENTERTAINMENT
From casual oceanfront lunches at the Ocean Terrace to fine dining at the Hanohano Room 30 stories above the glittering lights of Waikiki, you will never hunger for options at The Sheraton Waikiki. Guests can enjoy and leisurely cocktail at the hotel’s poolside Sand Bar or the Hanohano Room’s chic Cobalt Lounge, both with nightly entertainment performed by Hawaii’s premier entertainers. Visitors on-the-go can grab a quick bite at the hotel’s Kau Kau Corner.
MEETING AND FUNCTION SPACE
With 45,000 square feet of meeting and function space, the Sheraton Waikiki is one of Oahu’s top convention facilities. The hotel boasts Waikiki’s largest indoor ballroom with 26,000 square feet of unobstructed space. The outside perimeter of the convention floor has 15 conference rooms, several with ocean views.
